Then and Now, Before and After
After I was done editing photos from my birthday lunch this year, something possessed me to take a peek at the photos from my birthday lunch last year. So I get to the folder, click one family photo to enlarge it and the next thing I know, I was calling hubby at the top of my lungs telling him he has to come down and “take a look at these!”. He came down right away and we viewed photos from exactly a year ago together. All we could do was say “Oh my!” through each of the photos and playfully blame each other for allowing the other to get so, well, big chubby. :)
For three reasons, I’m posting these “Then and Now, Before and After” photos. One, to serve as a virtual, not to mention, visual, pat on our backs because our hard work (read: sensible eating and food choices and regular exercise) is paying off. Two, to serve as a reminder for hubby and me, that if we stop taking good care of ourselves, we’ll once again look the way we did before February 2010. Three, to serve as inspiration to maybe one or two (hopefully more!) people who are having a tough time getting back in shape. Because sure enough, if we can do it, you can, too! ;)

More of me then (left) and now (right). There was definitely more of me last year! :P
I remember during the first hour of the New Year, friends of ours were looking at photos from Halloween 2008 and one jokingly exclaimed, “Look how much we’ve grown!” Well, you probably already know what that actually meant. Hee hee. :)
What a difference a year makes! It’s nice to have a neck and collar bones and clothes that don’t burst at the seams. :D We are and will constantly be a work in progress. There are good days and there are not so good ones. But we’re smarter now, and making better choices just come naturally for us now. That’s one of the best gifts we can give ourselves and our daughter. ;)
Cheers, y’all! :)

Some men are great husbands but suck don’t fare too well at fatherhood. Some men, on the other hand, turn out to be great fathers but suck aren’t quite the husbands their wives hoped they would be. Lucky for Abby and me, she has the world’s greatest dad and I, the world’s greatest husband, in one and the same person at that! That’s like hitting the jackpot in Family Life Lottery, if ever there was one! :) In shopaholic terms, he’s 2 for the price of 1! Hee hee!

Happy Father’s Day, Munchkin! Thank you for being the wonderfully great blessing that you are to Abby (and me!). You are one of the best proofs of God’s goodness. We love you!
4 commentsThankful for You…Happy Birthday…Happy Sweet 16
I’ve been sitting in front of the computer for some time now, thinking of a birthday entry for you that would be different from 3 years ago, which was too long…from 2 years ago, which was too blah anyone could have said it… and from last year, which, I have to say, I feel was just right. But I can’t very well plagiarize myself, can I?
I always say that I must be doing something right to deserve God’s many many wonderful blessings…my loved ones back home…my mom…our Abby…you. All that I need, I most certainly have. Whatever conveniences and comfort we enjoy now, no matter how great or small, I consider as extra bonuses. And I gladly and wholeheartedly accept them.
To be ushering in Thanksgiving week with your birthday is most perfect because you are one blessing, a most cherished gift, whom I am ever much and will never cease to be thankful for.
Cheers to you, Munchkin! May all your fondest wishes come true, and all your fervent prayers, answered.
Abby and I love you very much. Happy Happy Birthday!
Also, cheers to you and me for 16 years of twosome-ness! I’d still say yes, to you again. Happy Sweet Sixteen! *wink*
Abby on Why Her Dad is the Best

It’s true, too, you know! :) While I’m making and packing Abby’s lunch, hubby prepares Abby’s breakfast. :D
And here’s the Father’s Day card that Abby made for her dad. I should have scanned it against a colored back ground though. Sorry about that! :D

Happy Father’s Day to my dearest Munchkin! Abby and I love you very much!
And to all you awesome dads out there, Happy Father’s Day! :D

…happy birthday and happy 15th year of togetherness.
God couldn’t have given Abby a better father and me, a better husband. We’ve been blessed with THE best.
God will continue to reward you for the blessing that you are and continue to be, to the people around you and to Abby and me.
Abby loves you. I love you.

Cheers to you, Munchkin! To your good health and to more answered prayers!
Mmmwah!
