WifeSpeaks is back! After a long period of silence, it has been refreshed and revamped and come April 27th, Monday, it will be reloaded!
Just to give you a short backgrounder, WifeSpeaks is made up of a group of wives (a.k.a. Wifespeakers) who love to talk about everything: life, love, and the everyday joys and challenges experienced by married women. It used to be that the WifeSpeakers share their thoughts on a particular topic posted at the start of the week. Now, that will no longer be the case. ;)
What’s new? For one, we will now be updating the site EVERYDAY, blog-carnival style! Everyone has so much to share and we figured that this would be the best way to go about it. From Monday to Friday, we will be posting topics on different categories. And hopefully, everyone finds something that matches their interest/s.
Curious? Hop on over to WifeSpeaks. Please do take the time to check out the FAQs and About WS page.
Next week, the WifeSpeakers will start the ball rolling by introducing the different categories. We really hope you can join us!
See y’all at WS on Monday…make that EVERYDAY! Cheers!
Mabuhay!
Unbelievable! No update for 12 days! You’d think I was busy! Well, I was. :) I’ve been meaning to update, really, but we’ve had so much going on since Holy Thursday. Happy Easter, by the way! It’s already been a week since Easter Sunday, but Easter, being a 50-day long celebration in the church calendar, my greeting still comes in good time. ;) I’ll write about our Holy Week activities on my next entry not so much to let you know what we did, but to serve as a reminder of how this year proved to be better and more solemn for us. For now, I’d like to share with you, our Hollywood experience. ;)
oOo
Today, April 20th in the Philippines (the 19th here!), is the 7th birthday of my youngest niece, Sophie. 7th birthdays are quite a big deal in the Philippines. Sophie’s eldest sister, Kylah, for instance, had an Arabian Nights themed 7th birthday party, while her other sister, Macy, had a Masquerade Ball. Sophie, for her part, had a Hollywood-themed party yesterday. And we missed it…physically. :(
However, distance proved to be a non-issue and we very well still made our presence felt. You see, my sister (in-law) still assigned us parts to play in Sophie’s party, as if we were there. Abby was to say a wish for Sophie, Hubby to give a symbolic gift and I to sing a few lines from a song that reminds me of or that I wish to dedicate to Sophie. We were to make a video.
Guess what, my nerdy nature kicked in! I was not just going to simply take videos of ourselves in lowly pambahay (house clothes). The theme is Hollywood after all! So we did Hollywood. :) We chose Tuesday night last week as our photo/video shoot night, so Monday, we were at Party City buying a few key props in the party’s color motif of black, gold and fuschia. At around 9pm on Tuesday night, we were dressed and ready to party! We did kinda feel silly. Hee hee.
And here is the product of our late night shoot. This is the edited version. I took out Hubby’s and my speaking parts, where we each said our message to Sophie. I also didn’t sing because I simply refuse to sing in public! Instead, I made a slideshow of Sophie’s photos accompanied by the song I chose to dedicate to her.
I hope you enjoy viewing the video, or listening to the music at least, as much as we enjoyed putting it all together. ;)
Were you able to identify the younger Abby in some of the photos? :D I have a bonus video for you, too, Abby singing “Bongga Ka Day”. I took this video yesterday. Abby has been hearing the song so much while I was editing the video that she decided she likes it. Hee hee!
Bongga, isn’t she? ;)
oOo
Happy 7th Birthday, Sophie! We’re very sorry we couldn’t celebrate with you physically. God willing, we will again be celebrating special occasions and holidays together really soon. We love you, sweetie, and we miss you dearly! Hugs and kisses to you from Tito, Tita and Abby. Cheers and God bless!
My new Amore, that is! No, I did not find myself a new man, goodness gracious! That’s unthinkable! Y’all know that my Hubby, Abby, my family, are my greatest love. The Amore I’m referring to is this…
…a 2009 Food Lover’s Planner. :D What’s so special about it? I’m sorry to have to do this to you but you’ll have to read about it HERE. Hee hee. :D It’s the perfect cure for the sillies…MY sillies, for that matter. :P
