Happiness is…
- feeling God’s presence in the everyday miracles that we are showered with.
- knowing that however hopeless things may seem, there’s a Higher Power who will see us through.
- Abby coming up to me at random times during the day to say “Mommy…I love you.”
- the scent of a newly bathed Abby…(and Hubby? Haha!)
- waking up to a 6am alarm only to realize that it’s a weekend and I can sleep in.
- my mom’s Lengua and Lumpiang Hubad.
- the aroma of freshly brewed coffee.
- Japanese food.
- perfectly executed dishes and desserts from my own kitchen and the warm “Thank yous” from Hubby and Abby and everyone else who (unwillingly?) fall prey to my cooking and baking.
- a Pinas Christmas…a Pinas vacation.
- literally seeing the world with people I love.
- seeing, hearing and feeling the love of sorely missed loved ones ones via YM.
- going to the mailbox and receiving pleasant surprises: gifts, cards and letters and prizes; coupons; new issues from my magazine subscriptions, etc.
- kids eat free days at a favorite restaurant.
- the sound of Abby’s laughter.
- the company of friends who help keep home sickness at bay.
- surprise presents from Hubby and Abby.
- a good cry from a movie or my favorite tv shows.
- capturing the beauty of nature with my camera.
- being content and thankful for what I have.
- knowing that the best is yet to come.
- knowing that even if I try, I will not be able to list down everything that makes me happy.
This is my contribution to the Happiness Is… revolution going on at Odette’s (my Dublin-based friend) site in celebration of her Valentine’s Day birthday.
Cheers and happy weekend, y’all!

-so true!! i’ve proven this many times in the past. in the end, you realize that He is just teaching you and molding you to be a better person.
“the scent of a newly bathed Abby…(and Hubby? Haha!)”

how nice naman this post. :) making (or even starting) a list about the things that make us happy is futile, i know. but our acknowledgment helps us talaga to appreciate and “pagyamanin” these little pockets (or buckets) of happiness. :)
