“You better watch out. You better not cry. You better not pout, I’m telling you why. Santa Claus is coming to town!”
Don’t laugh now but Santa is making his rounds already! In fact, last Wednesday, he came to our house and dropped off some very pretty presents. I have a stinking feeling that he came from Japan.
He left this package for Abby…

Nice packaging, ei!

That apple with the Hello Kitty image is a magnet!
These are the contents…

A doodle thingy (this generation’s magic slate. hahaha!)

A new food container for Abby’s school lunches

The cutest chopsticks!

And last but not the least, a Hello Kitty bakeshop playset.
How’s that for a Hello Kitty showcase? I’m really beginning to think Santa’s toy factory is in Japan and not in the North Pole! Or maybe, he’s really the man behind Sanrio? Hmmm.
The best part is, Santa thought I’ve been nice, too, and left a present for me as well! Weeee!

My new baby…as in Baby-G. Tee hee! So it’s not an Omega or a Cartier or a Movado or a Breitling or a Tag Heuer (parang Pay Per Post marketplace ah!). Still. It’s from Santa. That makes my Baby-G priceless.
Baka sa Christmas…Cartier na. Nyahahaha! ![]()
I guess the month of September really does usher in the Christmas season. Merry Christmas!
oOo
I’d like to share a little secret. But promise me you won’t tell Abby. Promise? Ok, I loved Abby’s Hello Kitty bakeshop playset so much that yesterday, while Abby was napping, I purposely allowed myself to regress a few years (make that lots of years!) and played with Abby’s toys. Hee hee. Come and play with me again!

The playset reminds me so much of Bread Talk. I am just amazed at the details that went into each and every piece in the set.
Look at the trays and the tongs! Cuuuute! Oh, and Hello Kitty is cute, too, of course!
Grab a tray and a pair of tongs and let’s head over to the bread counters.

The line starts here…

What do you feel like eating? Take your pick! I can’t make up my mind so I’ll just have one of each!
Why complicate life, right?

Is it too much if we have a French bread, too? They’re kinda huge, you know! As tall as Kitty. Hee hee. Perhaps for take-out?

Let’s grab a drink from the fridge and pay for our treats. My treat! Gosh, I’m hungry!

I’m glad to finally sit down and eat. *munch, munch, burp!*

What do you think? Cute diba? Thanks for playing with me. Next time ulit! .

There’s one more thing I want to share. Here are some clues. My current reads…

I found what I think is a good way to make myself useful. It’s something I’ve been wanting to do since last year as my little way of giving thanks for all the blessings we have received, continue to receive, and will receive. I volunteered to become a Religious Education teacher (yes, a catechist!) in our parish. I was asked to submit an online application to the diocese which I accomplished last Sunday. The parish, for a very very small fee, conducts Religious Education classes for children from pre-kindergarten (3-year olds) to high school. The teachers are all volunteers and unfortunately, there is a bit of a shortage of teachers. I so wanted to do this and you can imagine just how happy it made me when I found out I was accepted…on the same day Santa came to visit! Weee! I was beyond thrilled.
I’ll be teaching kindergartners. I met some of my students already. 3 of them! Nyahahaha! I have to admit, I’m a little nervous. I have no teaching experience whatsoever except those times in school when I’m asked (more like forced!) to report on something. Nevertheless, I am happy and excited and ecstatic and happy again. Hee hee. I thank God for making this happen and for allowing me to thank Him in a more special way.
Whisper a little prayer for me, please, that I may be a good and effective teacher.
oOo
What a wonderful way to end the week, hurricane Ike notwithstanding.
You may have heard about Hurricane Ike hitting Texas over the weekend. Thank you for your prayers. Don’t worry about us! We are and we’ll keep safe.
Have a fantabulous weekend, y’all! Cheers and God bless!

how sweet naman ng Santa nyo ni Abby
ang gaganda ng loots. and don’t worry, i won’t tell Abby that you played with her Hello Kitty set…baka mabuking nya din na nakilaro ako with you (oh, i miss those younger years when you play ‘make believe’!). and congratulations on the new teaching job! i’m sooo proud of you – you really do know how to give back to your community. very inspiring! i’m sure you’ll do fine & i bet the kids will love teacher weng (hmmm, bagay!)
keep safe out there, ok? we’ll be praying that Hurricane Ike won’t do damage to Texas…sana magbago pa isip nya. God bless.
Gracies last blog post..recalling Monte Carlo memoires
Hi Gracie! Thank you! I love the way Teacher Weng sounds. Pero Ms. ang tawag sa teachers dito at they don’t know me here as Weng. “Roweena” ako dito. Nyahaha! I hope 17 years of Catholic School education will help me in my volunteer work.
Diba nga ang cute ni Hello Kitty? Parang medyo weird that Abby is playing with the same toys (well, the characters at least!) that I was playing with when I was younger. Play date tayo ulit ha!
Wow, early Christmas presents huh! I wish Santa goes to our house too and be reminded that I was good the whole year too.

Wow, Santa is early and extra thoughtful. I love the cute chopsticks and the Hello Kitty bakeshop. I’ve always been fond of Hello Kitty when I was young and I still love it until now.
Enjoy your new books.
Rach (Heart of Rachel)s last blog post..Sticky Post: Philippine Blog Awards’ Nominee
Hi Rach! I fell in love with Abby’s loots, specially the chopsticks! I allowed her to bring it to school because she’s fond of eating dimsum for lunch. I lost count na how many times I reminded her not to throw the chopsticks in the trash when she’s done eating! Kulit ni mommy!
Hey Weng. Nakakatuwa naman yung mga presents ninyo from Santa. I hope dumaan din siya dito sa amin.
Congratulations also on your new vocation. Nakakaingit. I also want to do that one day.
Leap of Faith!s last blog post..…and now the video
Hi Keith! Thank you! Last year ko pa promise that I will help with the Religious Education classes in the parish. Basta I needed to get involved in something worthwhile. That’s the least I could do. When I passed the Architecture board exams naman, ang promise ko was to organize an outreach activity for orphans every Christmas. I did that from 1998 upto 2006. Although after I gave birth to Abby, hindi na kasing big production number katulad noong mga previous years.
Sarap ng feeling!
Ang bait ni Santa ano?
Baka mahirapan yun dumaan diyan sa inyo. Alam mo namang bawal siya diyan. Hee hee!
Wow!!! Obviously, Abby has been a real darling to get pretty and sweet giftS from Santa this early. And what about the Baby-G? Ate Weng, you should share your secret how you got one! The last time I had it was 11 years ago and my twin and I are the coolest SJA Malabon high school students just like that! That makes you one cool and really hip Mom!!! Add that you’ve volunteered and got accepted to teach Catechism to youngsters?! Oh my! I really really adore Munchkin Mommy!
Twinkies last blog post..9/11/08
Hi Twinkie! The truth is, hindi nga masyadong darling itong si Abby. Mas madalas nga siyang naughty these days. Charming lang talaga kaya malakas kay Santa! Hee hee! Ang secret how I got my Baby-G? Wala. I don’t really know what possessed Santa to give me a new watch. Charming din kasi ako?! Hee hee
Thanks for dropping by, Twinks!

Hi Pinks! Oo, sarap maglaro ng toys ng mga bata ngayon. Ibang-iba sa mga laruan natin noong.
Hintayin ko ang playdate natin. Hee hee.
Abby and I went to our RE classes yesterday…she to learn and I to teach. Sarap. I only have 4 students for now. Mas marami kasing nagaaral sa Sunday schedule.
